Jāna’s Parent & Child Music Classes

Rooted in the Dalcroze Eurhythmics approach, Jana Vitols’ classes use movement as a modality to facilitate musical curiosity and learning. Her programs give young children a strong foundation in core music skills while giving them space to explore their own creative voices.

What We Do in Class

Playing multiple string instruments and singing live, Jana shares a rich variety of music—from traditional children’s favorites to original tunes and multi-lingual songs.

Together, we explore key musical concepts:

• Core Elements: Sound, pitch, tonality, melody, meter, rhythm, tempo, and dynamics

• Musical Skills: Phrasing, pattern recognition, musicality, and playful improvisation

Hands-On Teaching Tools

Classes bring music to life using interactive, multi-sensory tools that keep toddlers and preschoolers engaged:

• Live Strings & Song — Acoustic string instruments and singing in every session

• Creative Movement & Folk Dance — Physical play that encourages steady beat ability creative expression and pattern recognition

• Percussion Instruments — Hands-on rhythmic investigations

• Books & Puppets — Storytelling and visual props that spark imagination
